Platinum Hugen Ordian

I am uncertain if this strange mecha-anime has been released in the US officially yet. I have a copy with awkward subtitles, but it is the art that drew me strongest. I love Wolf with the curly purple hair and psychotic alter-ego. A lot of people are immediately turned off by this anime, and I can understand it, since it is confusing and dramatic, and the artwork is unusual. I, however, totally love the artwork, and while I am still trying to grasp the story as well as I can, I do understand that it is less a tale of  robots vs robots and good vs evil, and more a tale of what war does to people. This is the theme. Our characters start out as happy people, all happy people, and through the course of the 24 episodes, they all go completely insane, in various ways. Wolf and Yu have destinies thrust upon them by their parents..parents that were angry about war...and even the pseudo villains that hack the computer  midway through the series are there because everything was taken from them in war. It is very disturbing the choices that some of the characters make, and it is difficult to say...here is the hero. In the end, everyone has sacrificed something, whether it is their life or their sanity, and the only thing worth protecting...is love.
