D arrives to accept the bounty. Even though it is just D's back, the flow of this cel is just amazing and I love it. There's great movement, and this reproduction background I made really makes it pop. A58

Sometimes incredible cels come at a very small price. This is true in this particular case. The image on the cel is the very small picture of D. However, combined with the amazingly spooky background, the depth of the scene comes full force, bringing the memory of it into sharp focus. A27

Cel of Meier looking so beautiful as he gazes up at the rocket.  The original cel is head only. I am assuming that the shoulder layer was likely A1end in this case, since only his head moves as he looks upwards. However it is such a beautiful face shot of Meier that I have long been trying to do it justice. My first thought was to just make the shoulders part of the background, which did work, but it was easily noticeable. You can see that attempt here:

So eventually I used this reproduction background to paint my own set of shoulders for Meier. I actually had a blank cel that came with one of my VHD cels as a cover for an airbrush layer, so I used it, so really it matches up quite nicely now and I'm proud to give Meier the shoulders he deserves. ^_^ D10

The  end all Meier.  Long ago, before I had purchased any VHD cels at all, I made a fancel. The fancel was of the portrait of Meier I thought was THE most beautiful, and as fate would have it, the fancel was made from this exact sequence. It took so many years to finally find the real deal, but here he is, at last. And for comparing, here is my fancel. A4

When I look at this...I think...oh my God, do I actually own this?  I thought I had a few pretty Meier's before, but this just makes me stare and stare and stare. I'm sorry to go on so much about it, but I really love it. Mine forever!! B8

Face off!! This was on my wishlist for a while, and I finally found it on Yahoo Japan. There are many cels from this sequence, but this one has the special effects layers, and is just centered a lot better than most. A21, B2, C10

Never thought, after obtaining the face-off cel before this one that I'd be able to obtain such an excellent matched set of both Meier AND D when the shot moves to their close-ups.
