Takara Dolls

These are dolls, mostly Jenny and friends, made by Takara. She is basically the Barbie of Japan. These dolls have some things that make them better than Barbie, and some things that make them worse. Overall, the basic dolls are created with not as high a standard. I would imagine that playing with their clothes would result in frays. The roots in their hair, for the most part, is thinner than Barbie. But a good thing is that their arms and legs do not have popping joints, and can be bent any way you like, to create better posing.

This is the August Jenny, for 1999, I believe.

And this lovely girl is November from the same series. I bought her, and the above doll, when I first discovered Jenny. I stay away from collecting them these days, especially since the prices on the ones I like tend to be rather high.

This is one of the boyfriends, Tomiko, I think? The doll and clothes are of a higher quality.

This young man is Raph. He's the prettiest of the boyfriends and has long hair. His make and outfit are also a step up from the norm.

This cute little guy is from the Licca series (sort of like skipper) He's supposed to be a French aristocrat. Since he's from a more collector line, his painting is better and his clothes are nice, too.

And what collection of intriguing dolls would be complete without this Yoshiko, of X-Japan, one of Jenny's celebrity friends. For starters, this is a guy, the highly popular quasi-crossdresser of the popular band.
